26 weeks today!!

Wow! time is flying by, but we are really getting a lot accomplished now. My goal is to have the room done by the end of January. Mom and I went out the day after Christmas and spent hours at the best little baby store in Atlanta, New Baby Products. We started my registry there and had such a great time.

This past Monday mom drove to Augusta to help me start painting the nursery. It is adorable, I must say. It is nice and bright to stimulate his little mind. I'll have pics to post as we go. Then when David got home from work we put together his baby bed. The room is now really starting to come together and it feels real. The baby bedding has also been ordered. My mom found a girl that makes custom bedding at this great fabric store in Covington called Fabrics and Furnishings. You can take a peek at Brittany's work on Facebook, just search peeky boo baby bedding.
Here's a sneak peek:
Also, mom helped me register at Buy Buy Baby, another great store (the only one in the state is here in Augusta, but it is a chain owned by Bed, Bath and Beyond). Such a nice feeling to have it all done. Just a few decisions to make on the carseat and stroller and we'll be done. I never knew how hard it would be to pick out the stroller.
We are going for a getaway tomorrow night in Charleston. I'll be sure to post some pics when we get back.

Christmas memories.

We have had such a busy Christmas holiday, but it has truly been a blessing. We spent lots of time with family making wonderful memories. Christmas Eve and Christmas morning were spent with my family. We had so much fun making cookies for Santa, enjoying Reese opening gifts and even Penn got some gifts too. Then Christmas day we spent with David's family at his grandmother's house with the whole gang. We are truly blessed with 2 wonderful families.

Our mini finally has a name.

It's official. We have been talking about this one for awhile, but just never settled on it. Today, David looked at me and said "what are we naming our child" so I said "let's discuss". We have really had a tough time picking out a boy's name, but without further hesitation....

David "Penn" Cooper, yes we will be calling him Penn (for those of you who don't know, that is my maiden name) and we decided to carry on the family name of David (he is like the 5th generation).

Of course, I'm sure I will still call him mini, for some reason it just sticks.

Christmas Parties

Tis the season to be with friends and family and celebrate! Last weekend we had our annual Christmas party with my girlfriends from college and their husbands. I look forward to this every year. We just don't get the opportunity to hangout together like we used too so this gives us some great girl time. Each year we rotate who will be hosting, so this year the Jackson's had us over to Watkinsville. I love that we rotate because we always get to meet new people. Of course we always enjoy way too much food, but the most fun is the ornament swap. Each year I always try to come up with something fun that will be the hit of the party. I will say it's getting harder each year to find something, but this year's was good. If you are a fan of The Varsity in Atlanta you will appreciate this, they sell ornaments!! Yes, they have The Varsity Hat or a Frosted Orange ornament for sale. I took the Varsity hat, how classic. It was a hit. I also came home with a nice, shiny, red, white and blue republican elephant to hang on my tree. Good thing we are all on the same page.

24 weeks and

these days being pregnant is really enjoyable. I'm finally showing enough to where I'm not being confused with just being overweight and I'm feeling our little guy moving all the time. We attempted to start our registry last week and wow was it overwhelming. I'll just say we got a start, but didn't really make a dent. I am still loving being able to workout. My goal is at least 4 days/wk, which is much less than what I am used to, but some days I'm just too pooped. I am also still teaching bootcamp about 3 days/wk. Some days are much easier than others, but I plan on keeping it up as long as we are both healthy. Everyone asks about weird cravings, well I hate to tell you that I really haven't had any. My diet is pretty usual, I have always loved sweets and that has continued, but nothing I can't live without. The only thing that has just returned that is killing me is the heartburn. I become completely immobile and miserable when it hits and it seems to be lasting a lot longer these days. I've living on Tums, spoonful of mustard, bananas, peppermints, I'll try anything.

22 weeks and 2 days

Each week brings new excitement with this little baby. I have just been waiting till David could feel his little kicks and last night was perfect. Mini was so active and David got to feel his kicks and see my tummy move for the first time. It was so amazing. David said "there is definitely something inside there", just like him. I said "there better be with my stomach looking like this". We are loving every minute and can't wait to see this little guy. Today I went for my 22 wk checkup. The heartbeat and measurement was great, my weight is nicely controlled (for the time being), and all of my last testing was normal! I am so grateful for my health!

Fun with family

this Thanksgiving. What a busy Thanksgiving weekend we had, but we enjoyed every minute of it. Thursday we had lunch with David's family at his grandparents house in Fayetteville then made our way to my sister's house that night to help decorate for Christmas. Mom and I also use this time Thursday night to plan and strategize our Black Friday shopping.

My alarm went off at 3:15AM Friday morning, yes we are crazy and it is the only thing I would wake up for at that time. We made it to Target at Lenox by 4:30 to stand in line for a 32in. tv for for me and David. This was the first year we had some drama while standing in line, but at least it made the freezing cold time pass by faster. A guy drove through the parking deck, parked in a space, hit the concrete wall in front of him, staggered his way to the middle of the line to stand there and ask what this line was for? Obviously, he had come straight from the bar! He was eventually asked to leave by security, thank goodness. Other than that we had a very successful shopping day making our way to Lenox, Phipps, North GA premium outlets, back to Lenox and then home.

Saturday was full of fun too. Mom had gotten tickets for her, me and Jenn to see the Rockettes Saturday morning. I love the Rockettes, I've seen them multiple times and I still love it. Then we went to Lenox, yes again, to pick up the crib for Mini Cooper. So exciting! It was such a good and weird feeling to be buying a crib. Next was to go to dad's to meet up with the guys who had been keeping Reese all day. Our next adventure was lake Lanier islands Nights of Lights. This is a tradition in our family and we love going, but this year was extra fun because Reese loved it. She searched for Dora's castle the whole ride and had the whole family (in 1 car) singing Christmas carols. (truly a griswold moment)

I can't wait to share all of these traditions with mini!
