39 week update

Still waiting.. excited, patient, yet anxious! Dr's appt today went great. We are both still healthy so I have no complaints. I have made a little progress from last week, but no contractions, feeling exactly the same. Sleep has been better this last week although I've had to resort to sleeping upright since I wake up in the middle of the night with heartburn.
We are definitely on the daily countdown now. I'm also trying to take advantage of my time and get everything else taken care of. I've been cleaning like a madwoman, doing tons of laundry, yard work, organizing and preparing. I guess you could say I'm "nesting". I like to think I'm just making good use of my time and making the days go by faster.

38 week update

I can't believe I am saying only 2 weeks left! I am so excited to meet my little man, but we are hoping he waits till Aunt Jenn gets in town. I can definitely tell that he has gotten lower and is putting a lot of pressure on my pelvis. I went to the dr. yesterday morning and got a great checkup. My weight has stayed at 32 lbs and my blood pressure is great. Penn is continuing to grow and his heart rate is perfect.
I am really trying to enjoy my last few weeks before he gets here and not feel like I'm rushing things along. I have had the most enjoyable pregnancy and I know I will miss his little kicks in my belly when he gets here.
We will discuss next week our plan for if Penn doesn't arrive by his due date. My dr. is going to let me decide what I am comfortable with since medically there is no reason to rush things. My thoughts right now are to give him a week after the due date and if he still isn't here, induce labor. In the meantime, I'm just praying things happen naturally. I really want the experience of contractions, laboring and David's face when I tell him it's time to go to the hospital.
Please continue to pray for a healthy and safe delivery so that we may hold this precious baby in our arms and thank God for the gift of life.
Here's the bump at 37 weeks and 3 days

19 days left

Today was my weekly dr's appt at 37 weeks and 2 days. It would have been nice to hear that some progress was made, but I'm not really surprised. No change since last week. Penn is still nice and comfy and everything is going well, so I'm going to try to enjoy the last few weeks to myself and David knowing that he is just continuing to prepare for this wild world. We can't wait to meet you little man!

dr's appt

Today was the first of my weekly visits. Penn is nice and cozy and hasn't made much progress. His head is nice and low and heart rate is good, so we'll keep on trucking. I'm actually not surprised or disappointed. I really want to make it past 37 weeks and actually would be happy with him staying until 40 weeks, it is that for a reason. I gained quite a bit of weight in the past 2 weeks, so I'll contribute that to some fluid retention and maybe a few cupcakes. I'll keep you updated next week.

36 week update

We are officially just waiting on Baby Penn. The car seat is in the car, the stroller is put together, his room is prepared, all we need is our baby boy. He has really started to drop and feels much lower now, which is definitely making it more difficult to tie my shoes, pick up items, or anything else that requires bending. I also had to give up my light jog this week, so I am strictly walking now at boot camp which really puts me at a slow pace, but I'm okay with that. I'm still able to workout and it really helps me feel much better. Lately, I have been sleeping really good except for the trips to the restroom and I my naps during the day are becoming more frequent. The one discomfort is back pain!
I go back to the dr. tomorrow for my checkup and she will do an exam to see if there is any progress. I'm not really expecting anything, but surely wouldn't be disappointed either if there was. My appts will then be weekly until we meet our little guy. This is a really bad picture of me, but I wanted to be sure to capture my belly shot at 36 weeks.

35 days to go, wow!!

It doesn't seem real that in just 5 weeks we will be welcoming our sweet baby boy into this world! I am so ready to see his little face and hold him in my arms. We have been blessed by so many on this journey and we are truly feeling ready for Penn to be here. I am still having a wonderful pregnancy and couldn't ask for anything better. His kicks are so strong these days and when he wiggles it's like an earthquake in there. I have been experiencing a few Braxton Hicks contractions randomly, mostly after I exercise, but nothing to exciting.
