David and I had the opportunity to go see Sugarland here in Augusta and have a datenight. It was our first concert in awhile but we had so much fun. Brought back the memories of the days when we used to shell out big bucks to see anybody. Now we are much pickier you could say.

Alligator Farm - vacation day 5
We decided to take the kids to the Alligator Farm to take a break from the beach for a day. This was a first trip for all of us and I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or David.

Family Night Out - vacation day #4
On Tuesday night we had professional family beach pics taken and afterwards decided to stop in at this dive we passed along the way. Going in the front door was a little uneasy, but once we made it to the back patio we had hit the jackpot. A great deck on the water, watching the sunset and listening to a guy play a little Jimmy Buffett, that's what vacation is all about.

Saturday afternoon with the family
We had gorgeous weather today so I went outside and washed the cars while David and Penn played in the yard. Just love these kind of weekends.

swimming lessons
Penn is in his 4th week of mommy and me swim lessons. He is really starting to get into it and kicking his little feet so good. His first lesson he was really unsure of the whole thing but he's warming up slowly. I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a little fishy by the summer time.
ready to go.

It's Penn's 1st Birthday!!
I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I had planning Penn's 1st birthday party! I loved every second of it and it went by way too fast. I decided to go with the "farm animal" theme because Penn loves making the animal noises. It turned out really cute and just like I wanted.
This is the invite I ordered from Etsy.com.
His banner and cupcake toppers were perfect!! My friend Mhari at Creations by Mhari made them and the food labels. She is so talented!! I labeled the food along with the theme so we had, hay (pretzel sticks), fish food (goldfish), horse feed (chex mix), fresh fruit, Penn's garden (veggies), cow tales, moo milk. I decided to go with a huge smash cupcake for Penn from Neopolitan Cupcake Shoppe and it turned out perfect. He loved eating cake and icing for the 1st time. He was a little slow to start, but once he got going he was all into it.
Here's a storyboard from the day.
We are so blessed with the most amazing friends and family whom most drove 2 hrs to celebrate with us. I could not ask for more. All of Penn's friends were there and they are all just precious. It means so much to have those you love, close by during special times and that is just what this day was about for me.
